Long Ashton Orchestra will once again be supporting Za Foundation with a charity concert at Portishead Methodist Church. The concert will be free and donations will be taken during the evening.

A wonderful evening was had by all on Saturday 14th January as the Long Ashton Orchestra gave a magnificent performance in aid of Za Foundation. Portishead Methodist Church was packed to the rafters and a fantastic sum of £1100 was raised in donations. Thank you to all those who attended and made the evening such a special event. Thank you to Portishead Methodist Church for hosting the evening. And special thanks to the Long Ashton Orchestra for their continued support of Za Foundation.

The bin has landed!

In partnership with Bristol Textile Recyclers, we are now able to accept clothing donations in our shiny new bin! The clothing bin is situated behind our office, 36 High Street, Portishead. Please place all your unwanted clothes and shoes in a bag before putting them in the bin and BTR will magically exchange them for cash!

Reciprocal Visit Grant Closing Date

Fantastic Fundraising at Redland High School

The girls of Redland High Junior School have combined their love of reading with their fantastic fundraising skills this term to raise money for the Nkomazi Community Library Project. Back in September, we invited the girls to raise funds to help us build our community library in Nkomazi, South Africa. Always keen to rise to a challenge, the girls got to work!

The fundraising was kicked off with ‘Bring a Book and a Pound’ week which resulted in generous donations of money and pre-loved books. The girls then spent half term reading books, and being sponsored for it! And finally, the whole school contributed to a wonderful poetry book called ‘The Gift’, which was sold to raise further funds.

All of this hard work has paid off with a magnificent £1344.05 raised in total! This is a truly fantastic achievement. Well done girls!

Do come and join us for an entertaining, musical evening as Long Ashton Orchestra once again support Za Foundation with a special charity concert at Portishead Methodist Church on January 14th.
