School backpacks.

Earlier this month, a team of Backwell School students collected new and used backpacks for school children in South Africa. The backpacks were handed out at the After School Club at Thembalethu during the Directors’ recent self-funded trip to South Africa. Long Ashton Orchestra Concert.

For the fifth year running, Long Ashton Orchestra kindly performed at Portishead Methodist Church on 31st January to a full house, raising over £837 for Za. As always the evening was a great musical and social success and our thanks go to conductor Nick Bromilow and the orchestra.

  • Zakhele at work

    Watch our Zakhele group at work in clinics, schools, after school clubs and in our community library. Through music and drama they deliver essential messages about HIV medication, the dangers of drugs and alcohol, rape and bullying as well as showing the importance of learning through play with orphan and vulnerable children.
